Bangladesh Geographical Indication (GI) Regime comes into force

Bangladesh passed the Bangladesh Geographical Indication (Registration and Protection) Act in 2013. Now, this year Bangladesh enacted Geographical Indications (GI) Rules, 2015 with an eye to protect the products having good reputation like Jamdani, Hilsa, Nakshikatha and other products as Geographical Indication (GI) goods as it will boost product prices and export apart from attracting foreign investment.
